A Closer Look at the Hookah-Shisha’s Mystique Ice-Tip

The last several years have seen some fantastic innovations in the hookah industry. From ultra-efficient hookah bowls that use less tobacco and coal, to hoses that won’t deteriorate under normal use. And Hookah-Shisha.com, creators of the Nammor washable hose and Romman tobacco, have taken another stab at modern innovation. This time, with the Mystique Hookah Ice Hose Tip.

The Ice Tip takes the simple concept that cooler smoke is smoother smoke, and approaches the process of cooling the smoke in a brand new way. Rather than the traditional method of placing …

Tonic Minty Dreams

Minty Dreams, as the name suggests, is very minty. Though the mint is not an intense mint, such as Nakhla’s Mizo Mint. Rather, the mint is a variety of sweet mints, probably of more than one variety, with an underlying sweetness which is likely a berry or fruit flavor, but it’s so subtle it’s nearly impossible to pin-point which ones.

Tonic DaVinci

While the flavor is distinctly peaches, the flavor is also sweet and mild and surprisingly realistic. In spite of no mint element whatsoever, the peach flavor is impressively refreshing.

Tonic Romance

Romance is a truly elegant blend of floral Jasmine and mint. There are also some subtle citrus flavors, possibly lemon, as well. The mint is sweet, but not overpowering, allowing the floral flavors to really shine through.

Ayam Zaman Double Apple

Ayam Zaman Double Apple, like all double Apple flavors is an anis based flavor which resembles sweet black licorice. Ayam Zaman’s version is significantly more mild than other brands on the market with some clear undertones of the natural tobacco flavor.

Hydro Kali Drizzle

Kali Drizzle is most likely a combination of mint, blueberries and grape. The mint flavoring is relatively heavy, at times almost overpowering. But berry and grape flavors do shine through, though neither are even remotely realistic. Rather they’re more of a candy caricature of the real thing, and at first, almost chemical.

Social Smoke Berry Punch

Berry Punch, like the tobacco’s aroma, tastes like a richer, sweeter version of children’s Flintstones vitamins, but not so chalky. The flavor is mild enough that it’s not completely in your face, but rich enough to keep you interested. Though overall, it is a berry flavor, the exact berry flavor is ambiguous.

Ayam Zaman Watermelon

Ayam Zaman Watermelon, like it’s Hookah-Hookah cousin, is an excellent, realistic watermelon flavor. The flavor is sweet and rich, similar to the bright pink parts of a real watermelon, but there are also some notes of tartness, like you might find in the lighter parts of a watermelon found closer to the rind. However, unlike the Hookah-Hookah counterpart, Ayam Zaman’s Watermelon also has a distinct natural tobacco undertone which, in this case, takes away from the overall flavor a bit.

Social Smoke Passion Fruit Mojito

Passion Fruit Mojito does taste like a real mojito drink, which is usually made with lime, rum, soda water and mint. Social Smoke’s fruity version has a clear lime foundation, with very subtle mint and excellent proportion of sweet fruit flavors.

Evolution Tea Pina Colada

Evolution Tea’s Pina Colada tastes like the real virgin beverage by the same name. It is sweet, and refreshing, with a distinct coconut flavor. There are also some very subtle tea flavors underneath it all, which are actually a welcome addition, leaving a nice calming sensation.
