Hookafina Citrus Mint

The flavour is exactly as it states on the label, it is citrus (lemon) and mint. Unlike other lemon and mint flavours, the mint is not overpowering at all and there is a consistent lemon and mint flavour throughout the whole bowl. This flavour is more citrusy than other citrus mints I have tried and is not “lemonade” sweet.

What Makes a “Good” Hookah Lounge?

Everyone has been to one. It is probably where you first tried hookah. Hookah lounges are starting to appear everywhere in North America. While walking downtown, you have probably smelt the sweet aroma of shisha being smoked for a cafe. Hookah lounges or cafes are great places to bring friends if they want to have a good time socializing. But what makes for a good hookah lounge? What would make you want to spend $10 or more for one bowl of shisha? Here is a list of some of the things that I look for in a good hookah lounge that I think you should look for too.

Hookafina Cantaloupe

Being compared to Nakhla’s Sweet Melon, the standard for the cantaloupe flavour among hookah smokers, this tobacco measures up very well. Unlike Nakhla’s Sweet Melon however, Hookafina Cantaloupe is more of a candy tasting cantaloupe, which is not all a bad thing. The sweetness is strong, but not overpowering so that it looses the cantaloupe flavouring. This flavour also mixes wonderfully with mint.

Al Fakher Peach

The taste of Al Fakher Peach is very candy like. It more resembles the Fuzzy Peaches candy rather than bitting into a real peach. Because this is a washed tobacco, you do not get any of the natural tobacco taste that you would get from other brands such as Nakhla. Al Fakher Peach is also a great mixer and can be easily combined with Al Fakher Vanilla or Mint to enhance the smoking experience.

Starbuzz Sex on the Beach

At first smell, the shisha smells extremely good and very, very sweet. I also detected a but of a tangy smell when smelling the tobacco, perhaps orange or lemon. With two Chronic Hookah coals and one layer of foil, the shisha started to produce amazing smoke and good flavour after 3 – 5 pulls. Unfortunately however, the flavour does not last the whole session and usually leaves about 20 minutes into the session with the Small, and 10 minutes with the Alien. After the flavour leaves, you can continue to smoke the shisha without any flavour but still nice clouds or add a new set of coals to the other side.

Telling the Difference Between Fake and Real CocoNara’s

Recently, I purchased a box of CocoNara’s from a local market in my area. Unfortunately however, having never tried these coals before, I did not know what to expect when I purchased them. I grabbed the first box I could find and bought it. A couple of hours later, when I decided to open the box and have a smoke, I noticed that the coals were shaped awkwardly and not in a perfect cube shape like I am used to getting when I smoke Chronic Hookah coals. So, I took it upon myself to search around online to see if the coals I received were really CocoNara’s. After a little bit of searching and a couple of emails back and forth with a CocoNara representative, I found out that the ex-distributor for Canada started to import fake CocoNara’s and that is what I received.
