Cut & Composition

Hookah-Hookah Scooby Snack is a long, stringy cut tobacco akin to roll-your-own cigarette tobacco. It is very moist, but more wet and oily than sticky. There are virtually no stems to be found.

Price & Quantities Available

  • 300g – $22.95
  • 1kg – $74.95

The Set-Up

Scooby Snack was reviewed using a Al Fakher Large Solid hookah and a Vortex bowl.

The Experience

The smoke began within 5 – 7 pulls and grew adequately thick. Though it wasn’t especially impressive, it was more than reasonable. The tobacco is fairly resilient to heat, with the flavor and smoke being nearly unaffected by moderate changes in temperature. The flavor lasted roughly an hour and ten minutes before dying out, though the smoke was still available with natural tobacco flavors for some time after that.

The Flavor

The name ‘Scooby Snack’ doesn’t lend itself well to describing the actual flavor of the smoke. Though a careful examination reveals that Scooby Snack is actually primarily a melon flavor. Perhaps cantaloupe or honey dew. However, there are other flavors blended among the melon. Identifying them specifically is nearly impossible, it seems there may be some caramel or chocolate, along with perhaps some light cinnamon. Overall however, the flavor is dark, rich and sweet.

The Insight

Scooby Snack was enjoyable. The tobacco needed very little attention and the flavor was rich and tasty. In my opinion however, the flavor died out a bit too quickly, and though the smoke continued after the flavor, the natural tobacco taste in Hookah-Freak tobacco is not especially pleasant. Nonetheless, this flavor gets fairly high marks because it’s not only has a fine taste, but also requires very little attention making it easy to smoke while doing other things. However, keep in mind that Hookah-Freak is priced like a premium tobacco, and for the cost you may find that an hour and ten minutes per session simply isn’t long enough. You might want to give the 100g jar a stab first to see how you like it.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Lovers of melon flavors will likely enjoy this. Though the melon distinction isn’t obvious right away. This flavor may be a dependable crossover for people who enjoy spice flavors, but want to try something fruity.
