Cut & Composition

This batch of Starbuzz White Peach is very wet, in a medium-long cut. Mixed amongst the tobacco is a good amount of medium sized stems which can making packing tobacco in specialty bowls a bit frustrating.

Price & Quantities Available

  • 100g – $10.95
  • 250g – $20.95
  • 1kg – $69.95

The Set-Up

This review of Starbuzz White Peach was completed after countless bowls, from many hookahs and many different styles of bowl. White Peach was most recently smoked from a Khalil Mamoon Pearl, with a Vortex bowl, sealed with two layers of standard tin-foil, punctured in a star pattern.

The Experience

White peach used three Coconara coals, and took roughly five minutes with the aid of a wind-cover to begin smoking acceptably. As usual with Starbuzz tobacco, the flavor wasn’t full until the smoke had reached it’s peak. When the smoke became full, it was extremely dense billowing, though didn’t reach it’s fullest potential until about 30 minutes into the bowl and lasted about 20 minutes before beginning to thin—although nearly an hour and twenty minutes went by before it was no longer smokeable.

The Flavor

The aroma and flavor of White Peach match almost exactly. And, unlike most tobacco, the flavor is nearly spot on. The peach taste is not a caricature of the real fruit and it’s not a candy version. Rather, the taste very closely mimics that of a sweet, ripe peach. Many who have sat down to smoke White Peach point out the flavor immediately without being told what it is. The taste is both sweet (though not sickly so) and refreshing—much like the real thing. The flavor also accurately mimics the juicy sensation of a real peach. Don’t be surprised to actually begin salivating between draws.

The Insight

This is one of the few flavors of Starbuzz that really make me wish it were more affordable. The taste is mild enough for daily smoking, but rich enough to really notice the quality. But unfortunately, at $21, it’s better for saved for special occasions. It’s an excellent flavor for introducing people to the hookah tradition for the first time. For me, the real fruit flavor is a nice change from the candy or floral versions (such as Al Fakher or Nakhla, both of which are formidable flavors) most brands produce.

Who Should Try This Flavor

As I mentioned before, this will probably make an excellent flavor for introducing new people to hookah. It’s also a great flavor for those who are looking for something with an authentic fruit taste. Even people who enjoy darker, or richer flavors may find this a nice change of pace. Die-hard fans of ultra-rich, sweet flavors may be disappointed, but it’s still probably worth a shot.
