Cut & Composition

Tonic Romance is a “Made in America,” medium cut, moderately juicy tobacco. There are some moderately sized stems, some of which need to be plucked out to avoid any disruption in packing the bowl.

The Experience

Romance has a fairly strong sweet floral scent mixed with a distinct mint. After beginning the session, the tobacco took about 10 minutes to start delivering thick smoke and rich flavor. The session lasted about an hour and forty minutes before the flavor and smoke dropped off sharply.

The Flavor

Romance is a truly elegant blend of floral Jasmine and mint. There are also some subtle citrus flavors, possibly lemon, as well. The mint is sweet, but not overpowering, allowing the floral flavors to really shine through.

The Insight

Romance is extremely easy to smoke. Nothing about the flavor is overpowering or overly rich. While at first, I personally felt the mint flavor was a bit too strong. Upon subsequent smoking sessions, the balance of flavors actually grew on me quickly.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Romance is an easy party favorite. Most people are likely to enjoy it, even if it’s not their favorite. People who are interested in floral flavors may find this is a great segway. However, fans of more hard-core floral flavors might be a bit disappointed if they’re expecting something fairly strong.
