Cut & Composition

Tonic Strawberry Citrus Mint is a fine cut, extremely juicy tobacco. There are some moderately sized stems, some of which need to be plucked out to avoid any disruption in packing the bowl.

The Experience

Strawberry Citrus Mint began smoking almost immediately. The flavor and smoke reaches its full potential after about five minutes of proper heat management. The tobacco is a bit temperamental and will not respond kindly to changes in heat. Likewise, too much heat quickly produces a harsh sensation and alters the flavor, producing a kind of peanut taste. Correcting the heat will return the flavor and smoke as expected. The session lasted just under an hour and twenty minutes, at which point the smoke and flavor dropped off quickly.

The Flavor

Strawberry Citrus Mint is, as the name suggests, a blend of strawberry, citrus flavors and a light mint sensation. The citrus and mint flavors are clear, though the strawberry is a more ambiguous berry flavor. In terms of other tobaccos, Strawberry Citrus Mint is very similar to Romman’s Good Times flavor. It’s unclear who truly has the upper hand, but Tonic’s Strawberry Citrus Mint is slightly cheaper than Romman’s alternative.

The Insight

Strawberry Citrus Mint is a great summer flavor. The berry and citrus is a fantastic combination which, with the mint, has a refreshing quality to it. It’s a perfect beach flavor. Romman Good Times is among my favorite flavors on the market, so for me, Tonic’s version has built in appeal.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Strawberry Citrus Mint is a catch all flavor. It’s hard to imagine someone having a strong distaste for it. Cocktail flavor fans, and citrus fans will probably feel right at home with this flavor.
