Cut & Composition

Romman Berry Breeze (or is it Breexe?) is a fin cut, very juicy tobacco sporting some of the largest stems I’ve ever seen in a shisha.

Price & Quantities Available

  • 50g – $5.95
  • 125g – $10.95
  • 250g – $19.95

Romman tobacco is made by Hookah-Shisha.com who is the sole online distributor. However, Romman tobacco is sometimes available in local stores as well. Check the local listings to see what’s available.

The Set-Up

This review was performed after a number of smoking sessions using various bowls and hookahs. For the purposes of this review, it was smoked using an Al Fakher Large Solid and an HJ Alien Mini Phunnel Bowl.

The Experience

Berry Breeze began smoking within three or four pulls. The fullest flavor and smoke came in at the same time, and the experience lasted roughly an hour and fifteen minutes. The smoke was thick, but the tobacco was somewhat temperamental, with the quality of the smoke dramatically thinning when the heat dropped only slightly. Although, too much heat did not produce the same harsh sensation most would be used to, rather the flavor changed slightly and became sweeter.

The Flavor

Romman Berry Breeze is sweet and tart. From the picture on the front of the box, it appears to be a composite of strawberry and blueberry. While neither of those flavors are terribly obvious at first, the taste does pretty closely match a drink or smoothie made from those berries. The sweetness is not overpowering, nor is the tartness, but the balance seems to be somewhat unsatisfying, though I’m unsure I could truly criticize constructively. Something just seems to be amiss.

The Insight

I tread with caution into fruit and berry blended shisha. They tend to be too sweet, or totally ambiguous. Berry Breeze, however, is far more smokeable than others on the market. I did enjoy the experience, but it wouldn’t be something I smoke on a regular basis.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Though I have trouble relating, there are people who like a good cocktail-style shisha. For those people, this flavor may be a match made in heaven. For the rest of us, I’d suggest getting a sample pack before diving into a big 250g container.
