Full Disclosure

Sahara Smoke was kind enough to send us this tobacco for free to try it out and share our opinions. We always make every effort to review honestly regardless of what means were used to acquire the product. Hookah-Hookah Clove is available directly from Sahara Smoke for $14.95 in a 250g jar.

Cut & Composition

Hookah-Hookah Clove is a long stringy cut. Something much like roll-your-own cigarette tobacco. There are virtually no stems to be found. The tobacco is wet, but more oily than other brands. It will leave your fingers wet but not slimy.

Price & Quantities Available

  • One Shot – $1.10
  • 50g – $3.25
  • 250g – $14.95
  • 1kg – $47.95

The Set-Up

Hookah-Hookah Clove was reviewed using a Al Fakher Large Solid with a Vortex bowl and three Coconara coals.

The Experience

Clove is resilient to heat. So much so, in fact, that it took nearly 10 minutes with a wind-cover to begin smoking to its fullest potential. The flavor was available within four to five pulls, but denser smoke came later. Once the sweet-spot was found, the clouds were adequately dense, but not especially ‘impressive’. The aroma and the taste of Clove are very close, though the taste is actually richer than the smell.

The Flavor

Clove is dark, rich and spicy. It tastes very much like the real clove spice. However, unlike other brand’s attempts at clove flavors, Hookah-Hookah clove is fairly mild with quiet, sweet undertones of cinnamon.

The Insight

Hookah-Hookah Clove is impressive. I admit, I was taken aback with the accuracy of the flavor and the size of the clouds. I could easily see this flavor being something I keep on my shelf regularly. It’s likely to make a great mixer as well. While not being too intense, it’s easy to smoke and goes great with a cup of ice-coffee.

Who Should Try This Flavor

People with an affinity for spice flavors will probably really enjoy this one. Because it’s mild, it will also probably find appeal with a broader group of people. If you’re a fan of fruit flavors, but would like to try your hand at something spicy, Hookah-Hookah Clove will probably make a good introduction.

I love this stuff. I am a big spice flavor fan as it is and when HH came out with clove I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not super strong so most people can enjoy this flavor alone without coughing up a lung because of the spice kick.

I actually believe I have a review of this one on my blog as well at http://www.buyhookah.com
