The Experience

This review was done using a new HJ mini alien phunnel and Chronic Hookah Natural coals. On the first couple pulls, a very sweet and thick orange flavor overloads your sense of taste. As the shisha cooks, the flavor subsides and becomes more of a mellow smoke. If the tobacco becomes slightly over heated the smoke will billow while the flavor weakens. If proper heat management is achieved, full bodied clouds coupled with slowly declining flavor of orange provide a pleasurable smoke.

The Flavor

At the start of the session, the flavor does resemble an orange soda. While the bowl heats up, the flavor becomes a thick and mild orange flavor. The flavor is not a natural orange flavor but more of a candy sweet smoke without a synthetic after taste that most shishas bring to the table. A pleasurable session can still be salvaged once the tobacco is over heated. The flavor will return if a proper heat level can be obtained after a short period of time.

The Insight

For my preference, the most displeasing characteristic of this flavor is its weak longevity; just as you sit back to relax it starts to fade. Using an HJ Mini Alien Phunnel Bowl, the flavor completely changes in the first 45 minutes. However, some Tangiers flavors are known to change throughout a session. Additionally, even though i have not had this tobacco for very long, it seems that the unused portion has suffered some flavor loss since the day it was opened. I would recommend that this tobacco be sealed in an airtight container if it is not used up right away.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Tangiers’ rendition of orange soda is a delightful mild smoke that will probably be enjoyed by people that like candy-sweet fruit flavors. Enthusiasts that like to sit back and smoke mild flavors without much tobacco taste or buzz can give this a shot this without warning.
