Cut & Composition

Hookah-Freak Citrus Assault is a long, stringy cut tobacco akin to roll-your-own cigarette tobacco. It is very moist, but more wet and oily than sticky. There are virtually no stems to be found.

Price & Quantities Available

  • 1kg – $74.95

The Experience

Citrus Assault started producing smoke and flavor within the first five minutes. As with most Sahara Smoke products, Citrus Assault was sensitive to changes in heat, particularly overheating. If changes are not addressed almost immediately, the flavoring element will inevitably be burned up and cannot be restored without restarting the session. With careful heat management, the flavor and smoke lasted about an hour and twenty minutes.

The Flavor

Citrus Assault is a lightly sweetened hodgepodge of citrus flavors, set atop a light spearmint flavor. No particular citrus flavor is clearly dominant above the rest. The overall flavor is mild, bright and refreshing. In real world comparisons, the flavor is similar to citrus gum from Trident.

The Insight

The ambiguous citrus-mint blend, among a massive number of other similar flavors really keeps Citrus Assault from truly standing out in a crowd. However, that’s not to say that it doesn’t deserve a joyride around the block. While it may not be especially unique, as a whole, the spearmint flavor, as opposed to a standard mint, gives it an interesting twist.

Who Should Try This Flavor

People who are already fans of citrus mint flavors are almost certain to enjoy this flavor as well. If you have an affinity for spearmint flavors, this may also be a welcome change of pace as well.
