Fantasia Cherry Cola

Authored by D on 28 May 2010 No Comment

Cut & Composition

Fantasia Cherry Cola is a fine medium to cut and does not have that many stems mixed in. The stems that were found where small and smokeable. It comes in a resealable plastic tupperware and is extremely wet, sticky and dyed red.

Price & Quantities Available

The Set-Up

This review was written while smoking Fantasia Cherry Cola in a small Tangiers Phunnel bowl with two Chronic Hookah coals. It has also been smoked in a Vortex bowl and a normal egyptian clay bowl.

The Experience

Once coals were added to a prepared hookah, it started to smoke almost instantly and only required one or two start-up pulls. The clouds were large but did not really have a wow factor to them. The tobacco itself did not require much heat management and was very easily noticeable when it was time to rotate or add coals. With proper heat management, it is possible to get hour and a half sessions with this tobacco.

The Flavour

Very disappointing. At first glance, it seemed like this flavour of Fantasia was going to be amazing as it smelled exactly like a Cherry Coca-Cola. Unfortunately however, the amazing smell was not followed by amazing flavour. Even with different coals, bowls and pack methods, the flavour never got as good as the smell. It was bitter and not sweet like a Cola flavour should be. It was also a little harsh at time, but once coals were changed and rotated, it resolved the issue.

The Insight

I used to love Cherry Cola and used to mix it by hand with some Nakhla Cherry and Nakhla Cola, which, once I found Hookah John, became Al Fakher Cherry and Al Fakher Cola. Both mixes were amazing. When I found this Fantasia flavour though, I thought it would have been the end to my mixing Cherry Cola days. I was wrong. The Cherry and the Cola where both there, although the Cola was mild, but that sweetness and freshness of drinking a good Cherry Coke were not.

Who Should Try This Flavour

I do not think many people will enjoy this flavour and make it a daily smoke. Maybe people who enjoy cherry cough drops will enjoy it, but that is about it. This flavour did not have the same sweetness as mixing Cherry and Cola flavours do. It was bitter and emphasized too much on the cherry.
