Cut & Composition

Al Fakher Golden Bahraini Apple is a medium cut. As with all of the Al Fakher Golden line tobacco, it is juicier than standard Al Fakher, but not dripping. It is not unusual to find good sized stems mix among the tobacco.

Price & Quantities Available

  • 250g – $15.95

Al Fakher Golden tobacco is more expensive than standard Al Fakher. The packaging is also a bit different. It may not be obvious that the product is made by Al Fakher. Be sure to look closely at the packaging.

The Set-Up

This review was performed after countless smoking sessions using various hookahs and bowl styles. The most recent set up was a small mod/Mya hookah and a HJ Mini Alien phunnel Bowl.

The Experience

The clouds are thick and dense. As is typical of Al Fakher tobacco, the bowl began smoking quickly and remained resilient to changes in heat. The taste does not become full until the smoke has nearly reached its peak. Minimal attention is required to keep Bahraini Apple smoking well and the flavor usually outlasts the coals. Additionally, the taste and the scent match almost perfectly.

The Flavor

When trying Golden Bahraini Apple for the first time, it seems most people recoil at how little it tastes like an actual apple. But with time, those who continue to smoke it learn to appreciate the complexity of the flavor. Golden Bahraini Apple has a rich, dark, almost earthy taste. At first you’ll want to liken it to licorice, but a more careful examination of the flavor reveals undertones of cinnamon and spice, paired with a subtle candy apple taste.. The flavor is warm, smooth and rich with a sweetness that doesn’t call attention to itself but supports the the complex set of flavors crossing your pallet.

The Insight

Golden Bahraini Apple is another one of my must-have flavors. It is always on my shelf and when I can’t decide what I’m in the mood for, Bahraini Apple almost always wins. This flavor makes an excellent daily smoker and goes with just about any beverage you might be drinking, but is complimented almost perfectly with a cold glass of Dr. Pepper. Unfortunately, it’s not always a party favorite since the taste can be somewhat acquired.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Novice smokers aren’t likely to fall in love with this flavor on the first go-round, unless of course they’ve been introduced by a seasoned smoker who can give them a good introduction. I recommend this flavor to folks who have been smoking for a while and are looking to explore something with more flavor nuances and are willing to try it more than once before deciding if they like it or not. If you’re looking for an Apple flavor that more closely resembles actual apples, you might try Al Fakher Golden Eskandrani Apple or standard Al Fakher Apple flavor.
